Steven Stewart

Steven Stewart is Director of Communications with Stagecoach Group plc, a leading multi-modal sustainable transport company in the UK. A former journalist, he has around 30 years’ experience in media and communications both in the public and private sectors.

Steven's role includes media relations, political and stakeholder management and investor communications. In addition, he is closely involved in the development of the company’s sustainability strategy. Steven is a also a member of the strategic communications group for the UK bus and coach industry.

Beyond transport, Steven is passionate about his home city of Perth and young people. He is Vice Chair of the private-sector led Perth City Leadership Forum, a Director of Perthshire Chamber of Commerce, and a Perth Ambassador. In addition, Steven is a Board member and former Interim Chair of Horsecross Arts, the creative organisation and charity behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre, the city's two main cultural venues.

Steven is also a Board member and former Chair of the Perth and Kinross Developing our Young Workforce Regional Board, part of a network of groups helping deliver a key strand of the Scottish Government's employability strategy. He has been a mentor for several years and sits on the Perth and Kinross advisory board for the Career Ready programme, which helps prepare students aged 16-19 for the world of work.
