Tay Cities Regional Business Barometer
Businesses across Tayside are being given the chance to help shape the economic recovery across Perth and Kinross, Angus and Dundee as Coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
The Regional Business Barometer Survey takes five minutes to complete and the responses will help re-shape economic development services across the three local authorities in the wake of the pandemic. Perth & Kinross Council leader Murray Lyle said: “The past year and a half have been challenging for us all and businesses have shown remarkable resilience in coping with the pandemic and lockdown.
The intelligence provided by business leaders and owners will be invaluable in shaping the economic recovery across Tayside and in each individual council area
“We want to know how businesses have adapted to the Coronavirus pandemic and what plans they have for the future so we can provide the support they need.”
Councillor Lyle added: “It’s important we hear from firms across all sectors and of all sizes. This will help us understand the challenges they face, and the opportunities for growth or diversification they may have identified too. “The more intelligence we have, the better informed our decisions will be in the months ahead.”
Angus Council Communities Convener Mark Salmond added: ‘We want to hear directly from businesses about how the pandemic has affected them so we can tailor the types of support the council and our partners can offer. “As we move out of lockdown, we need to ensure businesses are able to recover as quickly as possible. We can do this best by working in partnership with Perth & Kinross Council and Dundee City Council to make sure intelligence sharing and opportunities for growth are maximised.”
Dundee City Council city development convener Councillor Mark Flynn said: "I would encourage as many local firms and businesses to come forward and complete the survey. "The results will give us vital insight into their thinking about the future and help us make informed decisions about ways to help them move on from the impact of the health emergency. "This has been an extremely challenging time for business and we want to be best placed to ensure that there is a joined-up approach to assist in the recovery."
The survey will run until 1st August 2021 and results will be published later in the year.
