Jim Brown

Jim has worked in the Recycling and Resource Management industry for over 25 years in sales, business development and customer facing roles, progressing into management level roles as his career developed.
He has worked for 3 businesses within the industry both in hazardous and non-hazardous waste. In June 2014 Jim joined Binn Group as part of the senior management team just as the business was about to undertake a rebranding exercise from Binn Skips Ltd to Binn Group.
Overseeing the launch in August 2014 and working with the management team to build the business and raise its profile in the industry, Jim joined the Board as Commercial Director in the summer of 2016.
He is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the SWITCH (Scottish Waste Industry, Technical Competence in Health & Safety) Forum set up in 2014. The aim of the Forum is to provide leadership by working collaboratively to raise standards of health and safety, training, learning and development, and technical competence and to promote the Scottish resource management industry as an attractive career choice.
He is also a member of the Management Committee of The Resource Management Association Scotland set up to give a voice to the SME sector in the industry.
In his spare time he loves music, theatre and the arts, participates in theatre productions, watches football and enjoys an occasional game of golf. Oh, and beer and wine and whisky. Not all at the same time.
